Back to 1871

Linked to the ideas and thoughts shared in Reflections of a Cowboy, my Back to 1871 program is for people who feel stuck, who may have moments where they don’t feel good enough, who lack confidence, and who are possibly struggling with low self-worth.

Life is busy and we can easily get caught up in a whirlwind of emotions triggered by whatever is going on around us and feelings of overwhelm, anxiety, and stress are commonplace. Whether it is pressure from work, things happening at home and in our relationships, or stored stress from previous trauma, these feelings can lead us to believe that we are trapped in an unhelpful place. Our minds start to believe that things will never change and we tell ourselves that we’re not able to move forward… and so remain stuck.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. I’ve been there and come out the other side. With belief in yourself and the commitment needed to put in the work, you can move forward.

The programme is all about putting you in control, and has been designed to help you to feel safe and to rediscover the real you. To be the person you always knew you could be before life got in the way. Drawing on my lived experience, using my relaxed coaching style, and unique blend of tools and techniques, I’ll work with you to uncover the challenges that are holding you back, and help you to plan for a future where you are living a life on your terms.

I’ve called this program ‘Back to 1871. A time before…’ because 1871 is my safe place. As somebody who experienced trauma in childhood and has relived it for much of my adult life, I understand how important it is to feel safe in yourself, in your surroundings, and in the company of others if we are to ever to be our authentic selves and live a life on our terms.

1871 was exactly 100 years before I was born. It is a time before anything bad happened to me. In my mind it is a place where I live a simple life. I’m a cowboy and live on a smallholding in the Old West of America. The skies are big and the sunsets are amazing. I wake when the sunrises and my days are spent on horseback minding the cattle, and my evenings in the wooden cabin that I share with my wife and dogs.

There’s no pressure from social media; there’s nobody to compare to but myself; there’s no need to prove to the world that I’m better than my upbringing, there’s no constant knot in my stomach reminding me that I’m not good enough. It’s a place that I can go to whenever this world feels a little too much, if I’m feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or upset.

All programmes include a FREE 30-minute chemistry call with me to ensure that I am the right coach for you, for me to explain what you can expect from coaching, and to answer questions you may have.

One-to-one sessions with me as your coach enable you to share your innermost thoughts, challenges, hopes, and dreams during conversations that stay completely confidential and offer you the safest space possible to overcome your challenges and work towards your personal and/or professional goals to enable you to reach your potential.

Group sessions will have a maximum of 10 people with me as your coach. The aim of these sessions is the same as the one-to-one conversations, and may be helpful if you feel that the support of others along with my professional coaching would be beneficial to you. Everything shared within these sessions will be confidential and, with my guidance, you’ll agree as a group on the ‘ground rules’ and the most effective ways for you all to get the most out of the sessions and each other.

As an Accredited Strengthscope Practitioner all of my programs come with the option of a personalised report that will help you to accurately discover your unique strengths to help you to become more confident, resilient, and optimistic.

My ‘Leading with CARE’ programme supports you to help others feel connected, valued, motivated, and safe.
